SynConnector for eBay docs

Full documentation for SynConnector for eBay: install, connect, profiles, listings, orders, stock, and WP-Lister migration.

This guide covers SynConnector for eBay end to end: install, connect, profiles, publish/revise, import, orders, stock, WP-Lister migration, licensing, and common fixes.

What SynConnector for eBay is

SynConnector for eBay is a WordPress plugin that connects your WooCommerce catalog to eBay. You list and revise from WP Admin, import eBay orders into WooCommerce, and keep quantities aligned. Catalog data and imported orders stay on your hosting — it is not a hosted multi-channel dashboard.

  • List and revise eBay inventory from WooCommerce products
  • Import existing eBay listings and match them to store products
  • Import eBay orders into WooCommerce for fulfilment
  • Sync stock between WooCommerce and eBay
  • Use reusable listing profiles, categories, and business policies

Requirements

  • Self-hosted or managed WordPress with WooCommerce active
  • Permission to install plugins
  • An eBay seller account
  • HTTPS recommended for OAuth connect
  • Merchants do not need their own eBay developer keys

Install the plugin

Install SynConnector for eBay like any WordPress plugin, then activate it.

  • Free core: install from WordPress.org or upload the free ZIP, then activate
  • Paid plans: after Freemius checkout, download from the buyer portal and upload under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  • Activate the license inside WP Admin when Freemius prompts you — SynConnector does not use a custom license API host

Connect your eBay seller account

Open SynConnector for eBay in WP Admin and start the OAuth connect flow. Sign in to eBay and approve access. When you return to WordPress, the seller account should show as connected.

  • Use the eBay account that owns the listings you want to manage
  • You can connect more than one eBay seller account on paid plans that include multi-account
  • If connect fails, check that the site URL is correct, HTTPS works, and pop-ups or redirects are not blocked

Sync categories and business policies

After connect, sync eBay categories into SynConnector and pull shipping, payment, and return business policies from your eBay seller account. Profiles use these values when you publish or revise.

  • Run a category sync before building profiles for a new site or marketplace region
  • Refresh business policies after you change them on eBay
  • Pick the policies that match how you already sell on eBay

Create a listing profile

A listing profile is a reusable template for titles, description layout, eBay category, item specifics mapping, and policies. Assign one profile to many WooCommerce products instead of configuring each product by hand.

  • Set title/description patterns from product fields
  • Choose the eBay category and map product attributes to item specifics
  • Attach shipping, payment, and return policies
  • Save the profile, then apply it when you publish or revise

Map categories and item specifics

eBay categories often require item specifics. Map WooCommerce attributes (and other product fields) into those specifics inside the profile so listings stay complete and searchable.

  • Prefer required specifics first, then optional ones that help discovery
  • Keep attribute names consistent across your catalog for cleaner mapping
  • Re-check mappings after an eBay category tree update

Publish and revise listings

Select WooCommerce products, assign a profile, then publish to eBay. Later, revise when price, stock, title, description, or photos change. SynConnector revises the existing eBay Item ID when the product is already linked.

  • Start with a few products to validate category, specifics, and policies
  • Confirm the listing on eBay before scaling to the full catalog
  • Use revise for updates — avoid ending and recreating listings when you only need a change

Bulk publishing and jobs

Paid plans add bulk publish, revise, and end jobs so large catalogs can move without opening products one by one. Queue jobs during quieter hours if your host has tight resource limits.

  • Filter products by category, stock, or profile before starting a job
  • Watch job results for failed items and fix mapping or policy errors
  • Retry only the failed set after you correct the cause

Import existing eBay listings

If you already sell on eBay, import listing identity into SynConnector and match each Item ID to a WooCommerce product. That lets you revise live listings instead of rebuilding the catalog.

  • Import from eBay, then review unmatched rows
  • Match by SKU when possible; otherwise link manually
  • After matching, run a revise test on one product

Switch from WP-Lister

Already listing with WP-Lister? SynConnector for eBay can import WP-Lister listing identity in a simple flow so you keep eBay Item IDs and continue revising what already sells.

  • Export or prepare WP-Lister listing data as described in the plugin importer
  • Run the SynConnector WP-Lister import
  • Match listings to WooCommerce products
  • Verify Item IDs, then revise through SynConnector profiles and jobs
  • Deactivate WP-Lister only after you confirm revise and order sync work

Relisting rules

Configure relist behaviour for items that sell out or for fixed-price listings that end. Use relisting when you want continuity on eBay without publishing from scratch every time.

Import eBay orders

SynConnector imports eBay orders into WooCommerce with buyer details and line items so you can fulfil from the same Woo workflow as your other channels.

  • Enable order import after listings are linked
  • Confirm tax/shipping display matches how you operate in WooCommerce
  • Fulfil and mark shipped in Woo according to your store process

Stock sync and buffer

Keep quantities aligned between WooCommerce and eBay after sales. Optional stock buffers help high-velocity SKUs avoid overselling when channels move at different speeds.

  • Decide whether WooCommerce is the inventory source of truth
  • Set a buffer on SKUs that sell fast on more than one channel
  • After large imports or migrations, run a stock reconcile on a sample set

Multiple eBay accounts

On plans that include multi-account, connect additional eBay seller accounts and choose which account a profile or publish job uses. Keep policies and categories synced per account.

Licensing and downloads

Free core gets you started. Pro, Studio, and Agency add bulk power, multi-site licenses, and priority support. Licenses are handled by Freemius: checkout, download from the buyer portal, activate in WP Admin.

  • Lost key: use Freemius license recovery with the checkout email
  • Support: WP Admin → SynConnector → Contact Us, or the Freemius Customer Portal
  • See Pricing on this site for current eBay plan details

Recommended setup checklist

  • Install and activate SynConnector for eBay
  • Connect eBay with OAuth
  • Sync categories and business policies
  • Create one solid listing profile
  • Publish or import/match a small test set
  • Enable order import and confirm stock behaviour
  • Scale with bulk jobs after the test set looks correct on eBay

Troubleshooting

OAuth connect fails

Confirm the site is reachable over HTTPS, the correct store URL is used, and browser blockers are not interrupting the return to WordPress. Try again in a private window.

Listings rejected or incomplete

Check category, required item specifics, and business policies on the profile. Fix one product manually, then re-run revise for the rest.

Orders missing in WooCommerce

Verify the seller account is still connected, order import is enabled, and the eBay order is completed. Check plugin logs or job status for import errors.

Stock out of sync

Confirm products are linked to eBay Item IDs, stock sync is enabled, and no other tool is also pushing quantity changes. Adjust buffer settings if overselling continues.

WP-Lister import incomplete

Re-run the import for remaining rows, match by SKU where possible, and verify Item IDs on a sample before deactivating WP-Lister.

FAQ

Do I need an eBay developer account?

No. Merchants connect with OAuth through SynConnector and do not need their own eBay developer keys.

Will I lose my eBay Item IDs when switching?

No — import and match existing listings (including from WP-Lister) so you revise the same Item IDs.

Where does my data live?

Products, listing metadata, and imported orders live in your WooCommerce database on your hosting. Licensing for paid plans is handled by Freemius.

Is Etsy or Amazon included?

No. SynConnector ships as separate marketplace plugins. This guide is only for SynConnector for eBay. See the Etsy and Amazon docs pages for upcoming plugins.
